The village where Crete’s pottery tradition never stopped
Just 25 kilometres inland from the coast, a scenic drive of around 35 minutes from Abaton Island Resort & Spa, lies the village of Thrapsano. Quiet and unassuming at first glance, Thrapsano holds a remarkable distinction. It is considered the heart of Cretan pottery, a craft that has shaped the island’s identity since Minoan times.
