The legend of lounge music DJ Ravin from Buddha Bar Paris for a single performance.
DJ Ravin is a disc jockey and producer best known as one of the creators of the successful Buddha Bar compilation series. Born on July 11, 1966, Ravin was raised on Mauritius Island in the Indian Ocean. Ravin's love of music led him to Europe as a teenager, where he landed a job in a Parisian record store and began immersing himself in the city's club scene. An enthusiastic convert to electronic music, Ravin began spinning at clubs and private events in Paris, and won the coveted position as weekend house DJ at the one of the city's best-known clubs, The Rex. While manning the decks at a Wiz Bombino party, Ravin was introduced to Claude Challe, an early advocate of electronic fusion and world music. Ravin and Challe collaborated on a handful of singles, and when Ravin became the house DJ at a Paris club called The Buddha Bar, the two began assembling an album that mirrored the style and sounds of Ravin's DJ sets, which mixed dance numbers with trance and chill out tracks and reflected Ravin's tastes, which spanned musical and international boundaries. When the initial Buddah Bar disc became a major success, Ravin and Challe produced a second volume, and Ravin was sole producer on Buddah Bar III; he went on to produce 10 albums in the ongoing Buddah Bar series, as well as a number of solo albums and themed compilations reflecting his eclectic musical and spiritual interests.
